The IIIf occupied a special place in the line of Leica screw mount cameras. There were more of these made than any other model. The main improvement over previous models was the addition of a flash sync terminal. There were two main versions - Black Dial and Red Dial - which referred to the color of the flash sync numbers around the shutter speed dial.
